My Thoughts

The story is very cute and fun to read.   The colourful images follow the story and will stir the imagination of the kids while you read it.

Also included in the book, you will find the Story that Roger had not been able to tell during the campout.   And this story is funny in itself.    At the end of the book, you will also find a teaching lesson on being courageous and strong based on a scripture.   It also suggest discussions to have with your kids as activities to do with them.

The only thing that bugs me a bit in the story is some of the dialogue between the two characters.   As an homeschooler I am trying to teach my kids to speak properly and in such a way that they are understood by adults around them.   Padraig and Roger are using terms like righto, old chap, Cheerio and so on.    Mind you it is mentioned that it is a British adventure so I am assuming that these are commonly used in Britain – which would make sense.

Nevertheless, the story is full of adventures in the night and cute.   The creatures are out of this world too as many are simple very imaginative.   I suspect that my kids will have fun discovering the new animals in this book.
