My Thoughts
Where should I start with this book? This book is fitting exactly with our ways of thinking. How so you might ask? Well we think it is important to shape our children so that they can be able to not only defend their faith but also being able to love the people around them and be a light in the darkness.

The story of Papa is one that I believe every Christian parent should read. Somehow while reading this I got more inspired and encouraged to raise my own children to become warriors for the LORD. For me, it also anchored our decision of homeschool our children even more.

I was particularly touched by the story of Bart Pierce who is the senior pastor of Rock City Church in Baltimore, Maryland. The courage it took him to change how things were done with the youth in his church and how he got the youth involved at various levels in the church functions is particularly interesting. I immediately read this to my husband because I know his thinking about this was about the same. We were but encourage and thought that the idea of involving the youth in the various ministries of the church is important. I also remember what one of our friends told us about something he saw at the Internation House of Prayer last year – a church service all lead by children’s of all ages.

As I am writing this we are in the midst of trying to restart our church plant and our kids are involved as well. They love the idea behind HEAT Worship House and would love to have friends coming. Our kids interact with the other leaders and learn the important of prayer and trusting God. However, we also realize that if for any reasons the church plant does not take off the ground, our responsibility is to shape our children to be leaders in the future. They are a special gift from God and we are stewards of these sweet souls.

Our three boys accepted Jesus as their Saviour at a young age. You can see how God is working in their lives. Each is different in their relationship with Him but each truly loves Him dearly. And I am pleased because I was a bit scared on how I would be able to teach them about Him. You see I wasn’t raised as a Christian in my youth so I felt a bit insecure in passing on my faith to my kids.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend this wonderful book to anyone who has children and want them to have an impact for God in the world.
